Barred Rock 

This old-time Southern favorite is as friendly as they come, with a calm, easygoing nature. Barred Rocks are great layers of large brown eggs and make a fine addition to any backyard flock. They sport classic black-and-white barred feathers and grow to about 7½ pounds for hens and about 9 pounds for roosters, when fully mature.

IMPORTANT ORDERING INFORMATION: At this time, Chelsey's Chickens hatchery offers started chickens in limited quantities for local delivery (fee based on location) or pick up in Villa Rica, Georgia. Don’t forget to bring a box or other container for transportation from the hatchery to their new home.

Started chickens are approximately 9-20 weeks of age. 

Y’all, every bird is a little different! Depending on things like feed, environment, or lighting, we can’t promise exactly when these birds will start laying or how many eggs they’ll produce—but they’ll get there with proper care.
